Junrell Fuentes Revilla, a passing cyclist, happened upon the distressed puppy attempting to communicate with him and chose to heed the canine’s plea. Noting the dog’s fearful demeanor rather than aggression, Junrell decided to follow its lead.
The abandoned baby was swiftly placed in the care of the local Department of Child Protection, and the cyclist lodged a police report detailing the abandonment.
Wrapped in a towel, the baby was discovered by the puppy’s unwavering determination. A concerned passerby scooped up the baby and transported them to the nearest hospital.
Gea Ybarita, a member of the rescue organization Hope for Strays, explained, “The location where the baby was found is remote, situated atop the mountain.”

When the man who claimed ownership of the dog and introduced him as Blacky was located, it came as a great surprise.
“He guided us to his house, and to our astonishment, Blacky was there along with three other dogs. We realized he wasn’t a stray. He had a family and was just trying to help,” explained the rescuer.
Numerous people showered Blacky with rewards and praise.
While the team at Hope for Strays was relieved to see Blacky find a loving home, it was clear that the dog and his family still required support.
Blacky’s owner shared, “No matter how tough life gets, even though I’m not wealthy, I make sure to feed all my dogs and care for them.” This sentiment was conveyed by Ybarita.
Fortunately, the community rallied behind Blacky and his family, providing them with significant support including 10 kilograms of food, bags of rice, and other items that will undoubtedly enhance their quality of life in the coming months.
Hope for Strays explained their decision to reward the family, as a gesture of gratitude for raising such a brave and kind-hearted small dog.
While Blacky might not fully grasp it, he has profoundly altered his family’s future and rescued a young life that was on the brink of certain demise.
